The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), under its President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, is receiving strong backing from RATTAWU and other media and communication stakeholders as Nigeria prepares to host the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja.
The show of support came on Sunday evening at a special dinner hosted by Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, OFR, FNIPR, Chairman and CEO of United Nigeria Airlines, in honour of Prof. Justin Green, FNIPR, President and CEO of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.
The gathering brought together key industry players, including RATTAWU President, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu; VON Director-General, Jibrin Baba Ndace; NAN Managing Director, Ali Mohammed Ali; DAAR Communications Chairman, Raymond Paul Dokpesi Jnr, and other notable partners and institutions in Nigeria.
The stakeholders backed NIPR’s efforts to deliver a memorable WPRF, themed “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World,” scheduled for November 15–21 in Abuja, with the main programme at Transcorp Hilton. The forum will run alongside the 37th APRA Conference.
With the support of the Federal Government and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the forum is expected to place Nigeria at the centre of global conversations on public relations and responsible communication.
Prof. Green said Nigeria won the hosting rights on merit, describing the forum as another opportunity for the country to tell its story to the world from the right perspective.
Prof. Okonkwo assured that Nigeria would do what is necessary for a successful hosting, while Dr. Neliaku thanked Green for his commitment to Africa, Nigeria, young professionals and the promotion of African culture.
The evening ended with dinner, cocktails and networking, as stakeholders closed ranks behind NIPR for what promises to be a major international communications gathering in Abuja.
