By Amb. Monyeazor Oluebube Sunday
For too long, Bende Federal Constituency has had representation. What it has yet to experience is the level of transformation its people deserve.
That is the difference Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe says he intends to bring to the table.
For many, membership of the House of Representatives is defined by attending plenary sessions, sponsoring motions and distributing palliatives during festive periods. But for Hon. Karibe, effective representation must go beyond these activities. It must deliver tangible development and measurable improvements in the lives of the people.
His agenda is clear: to transform the office of the Federal Representative into a development engine that serves all 13 wards of Bende.

1. From Bills To Bende: Making Legislation Work For The People
Hon. Karibe says he will not be a passive participant in the National Assembly. His legislative priorities will focus on bills, policies and federal interventions that directly address the needs of Bende communities.
These include access to education intervention funds, agricultural subsidies for rice, palm and cassava farmers, as well as funding opportunities for micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs), particularly for traders and market women across the constituency.
2. The Federal Project Attraction Strategy
Bende needs more than promises of federal projects. It needs effective representation capable of identifying opportunities, lobbying relevant agencies, tracking project implementation and ensuring that the constituency receives its fair share of federal interventions.
To achieve this, Hon. Karibe plans to establish a Bende Project Monitoring Unit, dedicated to attracting and monitoring federal projects in roads, water supply, electricity and educational infrastructure through agencies and programmes such as UBEC and TETFund.
The objective is to ensure that projects attracted to Bende are properly monitored and completed, rather than abandoned.
3. A New Bende Economy: Jobs, Skills And Capital
This is one of the central pillars of his proposed transformation agenda.
- For Youths: A Federal Jobs and Technology Pipeline designed to connect Bende youths to employment opportunities, National Directorate of Employment (NDE) programmes, Industrial Training Fund (ITF) initiatives and digital skills development. He also plans to facilitate the establishment of a Bende Tech and Skills Hub in partnership with relevant federal agencies.
- For Women: The proposed Bende Women Trade Fund will focus on facilitating access to federal business support programmes, SMEDAN grants and cooperative financing opportunities to strengthen the businesses of women across the constituency.
- For Farmers: A farm-to-market initiative will prioritise access to federal fertiliser support, modern storage facilities and direct connections to major agricultural buyers, helping farmers reduce post-harvest losses and secure better markets for their produce.
4. Education And Healthcare That Reach The Villages
According to the proposed plan, development must be felt in every part of Bende, including Item, Igbere, Ugwueke and Umuhu.
Hon. Karibe intends to prioritise scholarship opportunities for Bende students, facilitate the rehabilitation of schools through UBEC interventions and attract federal support for primary healthcare facilities across the constituency.
The plan also includes upgrading healthcare infrastructure and facilitating mobile medical outreach programmes to improve access to basic healthcare services in all 13 wards.
5. The People-First Model: A Town Hall Approach To Representation
Hon. Karibe says his representation will not end with election victory.
His proposed model includes quarterly ward town hall meetings, where constituents will have the opportunity to present their concerns, communicate their priorities and receive updates on projects and legislative activities.
The approach is designed to promote accountability, regular engagement and a stronger connection between the representative and the people.
6. Why This Time Is Different
Bende is not merely looking for another politician to occupy a seat in the National Assembly. It needs a representative with the capacity, commitment and vision to deliver results.
Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe points to his experience in business, philanthropic activities and personal character as part of the foundation for his aspiration.
His ambition, according to his supporters, is not to enter the National Assembly to learn the responsibilities of the office but to apply his experience and capacity to deliver meaningful results.
He promises to be a strong voice for Bende in the National Assembly, a representative who remains connected to his roots and a leader committed to carrying every community along.
A New Bende Is Coming
Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe is not seeking election merely to acquire the title of Honourable. His ambition is to make representation count through practical solutions, development initiatives and accountable leadership.
He is not promising magic. He is presenting a development agenda built around method, capacity and character.
Beyond representation, his vision is for Bende to experience a new chapter of purposeful leadership and inclusive development.
This is the Bende we have been waiting for. This is Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe 2027.
