Bende deserves quality infrastructure that can stand the test of time, not projects that collapse shortly after commissioning.
This is the thrust of a fresh advocacy for the 2027 candidacy of Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe, with his supporters insisting that the Bende Federal Constituency needs a stronger focus on quality and effective project supervision.
According to the campaign, residents across communities including Item, Igbere, Uzuakoli and Ugwueke have endured roads and other constituency projects that often fail to meet expectations, particularly during the rainy season.
The argument is simple: Bende, described as one of Abia’s historically significant and largest local government areas, deserves projects that its people can genuinely be proud of.
Ojigwe’s supporters believe his background gives him a different perspective on standards. Having played professional football in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, they argue that he has experienced environments where quality and accountability are taken seriously.
Under his proposed representation, the campaign says road projects would receive proper attention to drainage, construction standards and supervision, while school interventions would go beyond cosmetic renovations to include essential facilities such as desks, toilets and solar power.
The same approach, it says, would apply to water projects, with emphasis on functional, solar-powered and maintainable borehole systems rather than projects that stop working shortly after commissioning.
A key proposal is also the introduction of Project Monitoring Committees, involving community elders and youths in monitoring constituency projects and confirming satisfactory completion before contractors receive their final payments.
The message from his supporters is therefore straightforward: Bende should demand value for its mandate and insist that constituency projects deliver lasting benefits.
For the campaign, Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe represents a promise of quality-focused representation ahead of the 2027 elections.
