OHAFIA — Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Abia North Senatorial District, has received renewed expressions of solidarity and support from key youth stakeholders in Ohafia, with the groups also reaffirming their commitment to the presidential aspiration of Mr. Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The separate engagements, which brought Hon. Nkole into interaction with Ohafia 26 communities youth leaders and the newly constituted Ohafia National Youth Leadership, provided an opportunity for the groups to congratulate him on his emergence as the NDC senatorial candidate and present their expectations for effective representation.
The first delegation of the 26 youth community leaders , led by Comrade Kalu Obasi, Comrade Onyekachi Uka Uduma and Comrade Uma Kalu Uyo, paid a solidarity and congratulatory visit to Hon. Nkole, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide purposeful and effective representation for Abia North.



The delegation also declared its support for Mr. Peter Obi’s presidential aspiration, projecting the duo of Obi and Nkole as part of a broader political effort aimed at providing competent and people-oriented leadership at both the national and senatorial levels.
Responding to the various submissions, Hon. Nkole presented souvenirs in behalf of Mr Peter Obi and HE Rabiu Kwankwaso Presidential and vice presidential candidates respectively to the community leaders and expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him, assuring the groups that their aspirations and concerns would receive positive attention.
He emphasised that his ambition to represent Abia North in the Senate is anchored on the desire to provide practical, accessible and result-oriented representation, stressing that the Senate offers a strategic platform to influence policies, attract development interventions and pursue opportunities capable of improving the lives of constituents.
Hon. Nkole assured the youth leaders that, when elected, he would leverage the powers, privileges and opportunities available to a Senator to advance the development interests of Abia North and work towards addressing issues raised by the people.
He further stressed the importance of unity and sustained engagement between political leadership and the people, particularly the younger generation, noting that their ideas, energy and aspirations would remain important to the development agenda he intends to pursue.



NKole Engages New Ohafia National Youth Leadership
In a separate engagement, Hon. Nkole was received by the newly elected executive of the Ohafia National Youth Leadership at its office in Ohafia, where the leadership, headed by its President, Comrade Ume Kalu, presented him with a gift.
The meeting provided another platform for interaction on issues concerning the development of Ohafia, with Kalu highlighting the formal incorporation and establishment of the new Ohafia Youth Office as one of the early milestones of the new leadership.
He also presented the idea of establishing a dedicated youth skill acquisition centre in Ebem as part of efforts to create greater opportunities for vocational training, empowerment and productive engagement of young people.
Hon. Nkole welcomed the submissions, assuring the leadership that their proposals would be carefully considered within the broader development priorities he intends to pursue for Ohafia and the entire Abia North Senatorial District.
He reiterated that his prospective representation would not be limited to legislative duties alone, but would also focus on using the Senate platform to attract opportunities, support human capital development and facilitate interventions that can translate into tangible benefits for the people.
The engagements further strengthened the emerging relationship between Hon. Nkole and Ohafia’s youth leadership, as the NDC senatorial candidate continues consultations and engagements with stakeholders across the Abia North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections.
