UMUNNEOCHI, ABIA STATE – Umunneochi Local Government Area is set to witness a historic gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders and supporters today as the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, pays an official homecoming visit to the council area.
Among the prominent personalities expected at the grand reception are the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah (Agu Na Eche Mba), Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor “De Ultimate Commander” (Ikenga Gburugburu of Ohafia and Nneato Ancient Kingdoms), alongside other distinguished sons and daughters of Abia State.
The reception, being coordinated by the Executive Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Hon. Sunny Afurobi, is expected to bring together government officials, traditional rulers, Labour Party faithful, Abia Arise members, OTTIMANIA Movement, United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP) Forum, youth and women groups, religious leaders, market associations, civil servants and thousands of residents in a colourful display of solidarity.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor described Governor Otti as a visionary and pragmatic leader whose administration has continued to inspire confidence through purposeful governance and impactful development across Abia State.
He called on residents of Umunneochi and neighbouring communities to come out in their numbers to accord the Governor a befitting hero’s welcome, noting that the reception is an opportunity for the people to demonstrate their appreciation for a leadership committed to transparency, accountability and inclusive development.
The event, scheduled to hold at Peace Secondary School, Amuda Isuochi, is expected to further strengthen the bond between Governor Otti and the people of Umunneochi while reinforcing grassroots support for the administration’s developmental agenda.
Political observers believe today’s reception will rank among the largest public gatherings in the area in recent times, underscoring the growing support for Governor Otti’s administration and its vision for a greater Abia.
