Dr. Martina Amarachi Ononiwu has expressed deep appreciation following her official appointment as the South East Woman Leader for Team Tinubu, describing the position as a significant call to service and national responsibility.

In a statement released on Monday, Dr. Ononiwu said she is “deeply honoured” to be entrusted with the role, emphasizing that the responsibility goes far beyond a title. According to her, it represents a call to mobilize, serve, and ensure that the voices, strength, and contributions of women across the South East are fully represented within the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She noted that her journey in public service has consistently been rooted in grassroots engagement, community development, and the empowerment of women and young people. Dr. Ononiwu explained that her new position offers a broader platform to amplify these efforts and to effectively connect national leadership with the real needs of people at the grassroots level.

“As I continue my journey toward representing the good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, this appointment strengthens my resolve to build bridges between our communities and the center,” she stated.

Dr. Ononiwu further outlined her leadership philosophy, stressing that leadership must be effective, accessible, and responsive—principles she affirmed will guide her actions in the discharge of her new duties.

She added that the task ahead is clear: to organize, mobilize, and deliver meaningful results that will positively impact lives across the South East region.

“This is not just about politics. It is about people. It is about progress. It is about purpose,” she emphasized.

Dr. Ononiwu also extended her gratitude to key stakeholders who facilitated her appointment, including Hon. James, the National Convener of Team Tinubu; the Chaplain of the Presidency, Bishop Stephen Adegbite; and the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, whom she described as a patroness and strong supporter.

She thanked them for finding her worthy of the responsibility and prayed for God’s blessings upon them and the nation.

Reaffirming her commitment to service and progress, Dr. Ononiwu concluded with the declaration: “Forward Ever, Backward Never.”
