Youths and other stakeholders from Elu Ohafia have pledged their support for the presidential bid of Peter Obi and the 2027 senatorial ambition of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, promising to take their message from door to door across the community.
The delegation, led by Prince Chukwuma Okoro, with Sucko, Amaechi Uduka and others, said their mobilisation would focus on taking the Peter Obi and Uko Nkole message to the grassroots.
At Mgbaga Ohafia, youths, women and men also expressed support for Peter Obi and Uko Nkole under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The community members recalled several projects and interventions they attributed to Nkole during his tenure as member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
They mentioned employment opportunities for indigenes in the federal public service, interventions at the primary healthcare centre, educational materials and computers, the May 10 Road, Ishimini-Elu water project, Mgbaga water scheme and Police Barracks water project.
Residents also recalled interventions around the Umuahia–Bende–Ozu Abam–Ohafia–Arochukwu federal road, including the Nmuri Bridge and restoration of electricity supply to parts of the community.
The stakeholders expressed concern over projects they said stalled after Nkole left the National Assembly, while pledging their support for his return to the Senate and for Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential project.
For the Elu Ohafia stakeholders, the campaign is now about taking their message to the people and seeking renewed attention to community projects and development.
