The 2027 Abia North Senatorial contest has taken a decisive step forward with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) listing Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, FNITP, Ph.D., as the senatorial candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC).
Nkole’s name appears in the final list of candidates released by INEC ahead of the 2027 general election, formally placing the former Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency representative on the ballot for the Abia North Senate race.
The development gives an official stamp to Nkole’s bid to return to the National Assembly, this time with a broader mandate to represent the three-council senatorial district at the Red Chamber.
Nkole comes into the contest with legislative experience and a record of previous federal representation, factors expected to feature prominently as candidates begin taking their campaigns deeper into the grassroots.
His emergence on the final INEC list also moves the Abia North contest beyond the stage of party nominations and internal processes. The race is now increasingly about the candidates themselves, their records, ideas and what they are offering the electorate ahead of 2027.
