A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chief Chidiebere J. Okoh, has congratulated the party’s 2027 governorship aspirant, Chief Eric Opah, on emerging as the APC’s flag bearer, urging him to immediately begin the task of uniting the party and building the momentum needed for victory at the polls.

In a congratulatory message made available to OHAFIATV, Okoh described Opah’s emergence as a significant milestone for the APC in Abia, expressing confidence that the party now has a strong platform to present a credible alternative to the current administration.

He commended other aspirants who stepped down during the process, saying their decision reflected political maturity, discipline and an unwavering commitment to the collective interest of the party above personal ambition.

According to him, such sacrifices have further strengthened the APC and demonstrated the spirit of unity required to reclaim power in the state.

Okoh charged Opah to hit the ground running by reaching out to party leaders, stakeholders, grassroots supporters and various interest groups across the 17 local government areas of the state.

He urged the governorship flag bearer to build bridges across political divides, consolidate the party’s structures and activate every available political machinery to convince Abians that the APC is fully prepared to mount a formidable challenge in the 2027 governorship election.

Chief Okoh stressed that the period ahead demands strategic engagement, sustained grassroots mobilisation and issue-based campaigns capable of inspiring public confidence in the APC’s vision for Abia.

Expressing confidence in Opah’s leadership capacity, Okoh said he believes the APC candidate possesses the experience, competence and character to defeat the incumbent administration led by Governor Alex Otti and usher in what he described as a transparent, inclusive and people-oriented government that would place the welfare of citizens above personal interests.

He further called on APC members across the state to close ranks, remain united and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party, noting that cohesion and discipline would be critical to achieving electoral success in 2027.

Okoh maintained that with unity of purpose, effective mobilisation and a people-centred agenda, the APC stands a strong chance of offering Abians a credible alternative and returning the state to a path of accountable governance.
