The 2027 political activities of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abia North received further momentum as the party’s Senatorial Candidate for the zone, Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, joined political associates and grassroots supporters in a series of engagements across Arochukwu Local Government Area.
Nkole was hosted to a dinner by the NDC candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Ignis Elvis Ogbonnaya, at his Ugwuavo residence in Arochukwu.
The gathering brought together political associates and friends for an evening of interaction, camaraderie and exchange of ideas, while providing an opportunity to further strengthen the collective political vision ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Beyond the dinner, the engagement extended to Ndi Okoromgbeke, Atan, Arochukwu LGA, where Nkole also spent time with Mazi Ikemba Nwamuo and other friends.
The grassroots interaction, according to the participants, underscored the importance of taking the NDC message directly to the people and building stronger community-based support ahead of the 2027 elections.
The engagements also reinforced the growing political collaboration between Nkole and Ogbonnaya, who are respectively seeking election to the Abia North Senatorial seat and the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat under the NDC platform.
At the heart of the discussions was the wider political project associated with the presidential ambition of Mr. Peter Obi, with emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, unity and coordinated participation across communities in Abia North.
The interactions further highlighted the need for sustained engagement with the people at the ward and community levels as the NDC continues to expand its political structures across Arochukwu, Ohafia and the wider Abia North Senatorial Zone.
For the stakeholders, the message is increasingly being taken beyond political meetings and campaign gatherings to the communities themselves, with the belief that the road to the 2027 ballot must begin with meaningful grassroots connection.
As the evening came to a close, the engagements ended on a convivial note, with renewed commitment to strengthening the NDC presence across Abia North and deepening the Peter Obi-led political project from the grassroots to the ballot.
The message is clear: Peter Obi for President.
