The call for a New Bende is taking a fresh political dimension ahead of the 2027 elections, with supporters of Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe arguing that the constituency needs a representative with broader exposure and a different development vision.
Their message is simple: “You cannot give what you have not seen.”
Karibe’s experience in Germany and his exposure to modern infrastructure, education and healthcare systems have given him a wider perspective on what is possible for Bende.
From roads to education, healthcare, security and youth employment, the campaign is presenting what it calls a “New Bende” agenda.
On infrastructure, the recurring challenges on roads such as the Ugwueke–Alayi axis, is a fact that Bende needs durable roads with proper drainage and other features capable of withstanding heavy rainfall.
Karibe also proposes improved schools, provision of learning facilities, free JAMB and WAEC coaching centres, scholarships and a Federal Skills Acquisition College focused on practical skills for young people.
Healthcare is another major part of his proposed agenda, including the attraction of a Federal Medical Centre annex, better-equipped health centres and periodic medical outreaches.
For youth development and security, Karibe’s campaign proposes solar streetlights at major junctions and opportunities for youths through agriculture and skills development.
The political argument behind the proposals is that Bende needs representation focused not only on managing existing problems but also on attracting new opportunities and projects.
Karibe’s support thrust also point to his previous experience with Enyimba and service in Abia State as part of the exposure he can bring to federal representation.
The message ahead of 2027 is therefore built around one central question:
If Bende wants a new future, should it not choose a representative who has seen what that future can look like?
The answer is Hon. Pascal Karibe Ojigwe.
“Bende is not poor, Bende is only poorly represented.”
For Karibe Ojigwe, New Bende is possible — and 2027 is the opportunity to begin the journey.
