The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, branded retired General Yakubu Gowon, former head of state of the military, a "genocidist" on Sunday. Emma Powerful, a spokesman for IPOB, charged Gowon with spearheading the second-bloodiest genocide against Igbos after the Holocaust in Israel. 8,600 beer bottles that were loaded onto a van and transported from Kaduna to Kano State were seized by the Kano State Hisbah Board.
