A prominent political figure in Abia State, Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor, “De Ultimate Commander” and the Ikenga Gburugburu of the Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, has thrown a sharp rebuke at the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their recent boast about capturing the state in the 2027 elections. In a no-holds-barred response, Offor, a staunch supporter of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, dismissed the recent comments from APC leadership as nothing more than an exercise in political posturing. He argued that Abia State do not need any change because the change is already here and the people are not ready to return to egypt.
Ambassador Offor’s remarks come in the wake of the recent APC State Congress, where Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, boldly proclaimed that the party is poised to seize control of Abia State come 2027. This statement, according to Offor, has reignited the fierce debates within the political sphere in Abia, but he doesn’t mince words when evaluating the APC’s readiness to govern.
“The statement made by Benjamin Kalu is nothing more than empty rhetoric,” Offor asserted. “Rather than channeling energy into futile political banter, Kalu should focus on his legislative duties—his primary responsibility. The people of Abia are watching closely. If he continues down this path of meaningless grandstanding, they’ll have no reason to keep him in office in 2027. His constant tantrums will only serve to alienate the very people he purports to serve.”
Criticizing the APC’s approach to governance, Ambassador Offor referred to their latest congress as “old wine in new skin” and underscored the alarming implications of such a political revival. “This is a party that continues to recycle the same old faces, the same tired politicians, and the same discredited tactics. It is the very same group of people who, for years, have held Abia in a chokehold before God’s intervention in 2023, draining its resources and leaving the state in a perpetual state of disrepair. Now, they want to return us to that dark era of decay. The people of Abia are no fools, and they will not be deceived by this regurgitation of the failed politics of yesteryears.”
On the subject of the APC’s self-proclaimed ability to “capture Abia in 2027,” Ambassador Offor did not hold back. He urged the party to wake up from its deep slumber and understand the reality of modern governance. “If they truly want to lead Abia, they must first understand the essence of leadership. They should seek out Governor Alex Otti for tutelage on what it means to lead with integrity, vision, and purpose. It is clear that they lack these qualities. Even if they were freely handed the reins of power today, they would flounder, completely unprepared to lead. The APC needs to realize that there is a difference between scrambling for power in the name of “federal might” and actually governing because Abia’s political orientation and inclination exist in a different horizon as a result of awareness brought about by true leader. Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has displayed a level of leadership dexterity that Abians have longed for—and that is what the people want.”
Ambassador Offor concluded by making it clear that any attempt by the APC to undermine the current leadership or roll back the progress made under Governor Otti will be met with fierce resistance. “Abians are no longer fooled. They have woken up to the reality of good governance, and they will not allow their state to be dragged backward into the days of corruption and misrule. Any attempt to derail the progress we’ve made will be resisted with all the strength of the people. The time for change is now—and the people of Abia will not allow anyone to steal that change from them.”
