Set Nnamdi Kanu Free And Become Eze Ndi Igbo: Tony Kalu Appeals to President Tinubu

Tinubu

An open letter has been addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to demonstrate true statesmanship by releasing Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The message appeals to President Tinubu’s authority as Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, stating that freeing Kanu would not only earn him the revered title of “Eze Ndi Igbo” (King of the Igbo people) but also secure his legacy and political future.

The letter warns that the upcoming protest organized by Omoyele Sowore should not be suppressed by force, but rather preempted with an act of mercy—releasing Kanu before the protest takes place. According to the writer, such a gesture would guarantee Tinubu’s second term as president and position him as a hero, not just among the Igbo community but across Nigeria.

The author further argues that Nnamdi Kanu’s continued detention has moved from legal to political grounds, describing it as the imprisonment of an entire people rather than just one individual. The appeal ends with a heartfelt plea: “Sir, ema binu, let him go today and be the hero of this story. It is the easiest way to become the next leader of the Obidient movement. Thank you.”
